Initial Material Investigations //

Model Made / A shift in scale.

5 models created from one piece of paper.
Each 5 forms are randomly determined, this was a form of spontaneous design.

A perspective of each of the 5 physical models is selected, and recreated in CAD in 2D form.

Each 5 2D forms are then altered by 4 of the same steps.

Step 1: The original 2D model form is duplicated 3 times, and the surface is shaded in 3 various ways to create a 3D effect.

Step 2: Each 2D model form is enlarged, and a human outline is situated in close proximity to establish a “real life” scale.

Step 3: The 2D model form is reduced in size, replicated multiple times and arranged in a linear format. A human outline is situated again in close proximity to establish an alternate “real life” scale.

Step 4: The 2D model form is furthermore reduced in size, and replicated multiple times is a larger capacity, to produce a pattern/grouping – which in turn creates a new visual perception of the model.

This investigation was to explore the effects of re-scaling 2D and 3D forms by multiplying all 5 forms + grouping, in order to adjust the visual perspectives of each.
